Online help chat is rapidly expanding, particularly on e-commerce sites. In this brief presentation we will illustrate the reasons for chat’s success and the benefits it offers to a site’s users, particularly for those companies that adopt it. On this basis we will discuss together what to consider when evaluating a chat implementation, identifying platform selection criteria and focusing on what implementing a chat entails at the organizational and technical levels.

Furthermore, we will see which tools allow measuring a chat’s efficiency, what to expect in terms of effective results based on actual project experiences, as well as a few “magic formulas” to calculate and estimate volumes, costs, and savings linked to a chat’s introduction.
